The Itajime + Dyeing (white based fabric) and Itajime ＋discharge dyeing (black based fabric) techniques of "Arimatsu shibori" are applied on brushed cotton twill fabric.
Itajime (Itajime-shibori) is one of the techniques of Arimatsu shibori that has been used since the Edo period, in which folded fabric is clamped between two wooden boards before being dyed.
The clamped part is compressed, making it difficult for the dye to penetrate, allowing the pattern to be expressed.
