FALL/WINTER 2023
-Voices From The Snow-
Snow keeps changing its shape. Each snowflake looks spiky itself but embrace me softly when they gathered. When compressed, becomes hard like stones.
Every year winter came, my life completely changed back in the days in Iwate. I only could do to kill my time were playing with snow such as skiing, throwing snowballs each other with my friends and making snow igloo. Otherwise staying inside and playing with fabric remnants.
In the first few weeks of winter, I enjoyed that kind of snow activities very much, however it got boring soon because the winter in Iwate was too long for me as a child.
As I grew older, I found lots of interesting and inspiring things that snow brought. Watching snowflakes on my ski gloves grow and melt. It’s very silent in night with snow compared to night in other seasons because snow absorbs sounds.
I express what the snow has taught me: how to enjoy life as it is, what true abundance is, and appreciation for nature. The world can be better if we hand in hand with others, unite like snowflakes.
