スラブ藍染め

遠州地方は古くから高い技術と持つ職人が育つ土壌があり現在でも日本有数の綿織物産地として知られています。そんな遠州地方、創業150年の老舗工房で糸染から織りまでを一貫して行っています。糸の状態から丹念に手仕事で染め重ねた糸を、その糸の持つ色や風合いを生かしながら丁寧に織り上げています。洗えば洗うほどその風合いが増してゆく、味わい深い織物に仕上がります。

今シーズンは経糸に40双糸の白糸と5番手の藍染スラブ糸、緯糸に20単糸の白スラブ糸と20単糸の薄い藍染糸を使用し凹凸と色の奥行がある表情豊かな仕上がり。

浴衣生地のような日本の夏を連想させる涼しげなファブリック。

Fabric

The Enshu region has long been known as one of the leading cotton textile production areas in Japan, where craftsmen with advanced skills and techniques have been nurtured. In the Enshu region, a long-established workshop established 150 years ago handles the entire process from yarn dyeing to weaving. The threads are painstakingly dyed by hand from the thread state, and then carefully woven while taking advantage of the colors and textures of the threads. The more the yarns are washed, the more the texture of the fabric increases, resulting in a textile with a deep sense of taste. This season, 40 count 2ply white yarn and 5 count indigo-dyed slub yarn are used for the warp, and 20 count white slub yarn and 20 count thin indigo-dyed yarn are used for the weft, resulting in an expressive finish with unevenness and depth of color. This cool fabric is reminiscent of yukata fabrics and evokes Japanese summer.
